Our Sustainability

At Riccoffee we ensure all our coffees have been produced in a sustainable and positively impactful way.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and we have made the sustainability of our supply chain a top priority.

We look at our sustainability and impact through the lens of our people, product and planet.

We aim for all our stakeholders to achieve prosperous incomes, our coffees to be procured in a sustainable way and in doing so we demonstrate our deep passionate care for our planet.

Our approach to sustainability and impact happens in two simple steps:
We ensure we understand the impact our business activities have on our living environment and then we look at all our major stakeholders in our supply chain to consider their material environmental impacts. We do this to ensure we can choose a sustainable pathway for our business practices.

Riccoffee has committed to achieving net-zero in our own operations by 2030 and formulated a plan to become carbon neutral across our supply chain.

We have adopted the principles of the UN Global Compact to investigate how our business activities affect the UN Sustainable Development Goals.  We have identified three material issues which we have committed to improve in order to enhance our sustainability performance and stakeholder impact.

Sustainable Development Initiatives for Poverty Alleviation and Environmental Conservation in our Supply Chain

End poverty by identifying projects and initiatives which improve smallholder farmer incomes in our supply chain.

Through our coffee suppliers we want to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

Through partnerships, help protect, restore and promote sustainable use and management of forests.

Commitment to Sustainable Practices and Climate Resilience in the Coffee Industry

We recognise that climate change is one of the most important factors adversely impacting the coffee industry and we want to help our producers take action. Our global supplier survey demonstrated the need for initiatives around smart agricultural training, yield enhancing crop inputs and global ESG regulatory requirements, especially at the smallholder farmer level in all our procuring countries.

As a member of the British Coffee Association Sustainability Committee, we participate in industry wide sustainability and impact initiatives.

Our product offerings include sustainable coffees through Rainforest Alliance and Soil Association organic certifications.

We are proud to have achieved an EcoVadis Gold Medal for our sustainability efforts throughout our supply chain.

We commit and want to continually improve our sustainability and impact credentials. We do this at Riccoffee because in all our trading activities we believe it is the right thing to do.
